Salary Range:$52,000.00 To $65,000.00 Annually

Reporting Manager: Senior Estimator
Location: Head Office: 688 Josephine Street, Wingham

Position Summary:

The Estimator is responsible for supporting the Britespan Sales Team & Dealer Network by quoting custom projects outside the scope of standard offerings. The Estimator will make use of programs such as AutoCAD and Excel to accomplish this task in a timely manner. The Estimator will be expected to collaborate with several departments to provide accurate project costing and design.

Position Qualifications:

Education & Knowledge

• Completion of a post-secondary program in a related field
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and limitations – Asset

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Time Management and Attention to Detail
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge and skills quickly
• Ability to work under pressure
• Able to read blueprints and parts lists
• Excellent judgement and decision-making
• Competent in AutoCAD – Asset
• Analytical Mindset and Data Analysis Skills – Asset

Experience

• Design or business administration (or equivalent work experience)
• Previous experience in costing, design, and manufacturing
• Familiarity with machining and/or welding and fabrication – Asset
• 2 years’ experience in estimating/quoting – Asset

Communication

• Excellent English Communication Skills (both Oral and Written) internal and external from Britespan
• French – Asset
• Interpersonal Skills
• Team Mindset

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of our products, quality standards, and manufacturing processes
• Provides Sales Support to Britespan’s Dealer Network for projects by providing custom profiles, spacing, and costing
• Analyze project requirements and specifications
• Sketch and design custom profiles using engineering concepts to address challenges and requests from management, Dealers and Customers
• Analyze building parameters to provide full turn-key building quotes for our direct sale contracts which includes installation labour, equipment rentals, overhead doors and any other applicable value-add components.
• Assist Engineering with centerlines and gage maps when required
• Provide accurate and detailed costing on custom projects
• Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and expectations throughout the quoting process
• Develop, Improve and Maintain costing models and tools for the Estimating Department
• Drive Continuous Improvement within all tasks within Estimating Department
• Other duties as assigned by management
