Agriculture Sales Specialist

Location: Wingham, ON, CA
Salary Range: $55,000.00 To $65,000.00 Annually
Position Summary: 

As an Agriculture Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for cold calling, generating and engaging with cold and warm leads, consulting for solutions, and selling our products through Britespan Building Systems directly to the end user. You will be working in concert with all departments to achieve a high rate of success.

Position Qualifications:

Education & Knowledge
A strong background in B2B/B2C
Demonstrable knowledge in equestrian facilities, livestock housing and agricultural operations
·          Previous success self-generating leads and cold calling.(Preferred)
·         A college degree, technical school diploma or certifications (Preferred) or 5 years+ in agricultural sales (Required)
·         Ability to read structural drawings (Preferred)

Skills
·         Ability to work with prospective clients comfortably, clearly and effectively in person, over the phone and on video conferencing platforms
·         Ability to effectively sell in competitive marketplace
·         Knowledge of market analysis, sales planning, and agriculture
·         Advanced ability in Microsoft Office suite
·         Financial Mathematics: Able to functionally demonstrate the ability to work with pricing, markups, margins, and other pricing functions
·         General Mathematics: Ability to functionally demonstrate the ability to work with calculator functions, fractions, decimal points, measurements tabulation
·         Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure to meet sales goals
·         Flexible, highly motivated, efficient and well organized

Experience
·         5+ years of consultative sales experience
·         Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs such as HubSpot, Salesforce, and Microsoft Dynamics
·         CAD Experience (preferred)
·         2 + years of construction-related experience (Preferred)
·         Agricultural sales background (Preferred)
·         Agricultural working experience, and/or personal experience in agriculture

Communication
·         Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, sales presentation and sales closing skills
·         Building rapport with prospective clients and promoting a pleasant outgoing attitude
·         Proficient in electronic communication methods such as email, text, instant messaging, video meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and Webex

Responsibilities:

1. Achieve revenue goals:

  • Reasonable sales revenue models have been established for this position that are specifically tied to a compensation structure.
  • Objectives will include riding arena facilities, general farm buildings and agriculture structures.
  • Scopes of work for sales will include material packages only, furnish and install and turnkey projects.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our products, quality standards, industry trends and competition.
  • Engage every assigned prospective client with Britespan sales cycle procedures and processes to achieve a high level of success, and a consistent Best-In-Class customer experience
  • Achieve success by being available for regular business hours to arrive at the highest possible connection rate with potential clients as their availability warrants

2. Support Britespan Building Systems sales orders:

  • All items from self generated leads to order processing will be documented and tracked in the company CRM program
  • Work directly with Britespan Customer Service Team to process and execute orders
  • Ensure customer payments are prompt and as contracted
  • Follow through on all sales activities expediently to uphold company’s image and provide best-in-class services.
  • Follow up after construction to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensure warranty registration is completed on all orders
  • Continuously identify new opportunities, and make suggestions for continuous improvements
  • Report bi-weekly on sales pipeline activity for leads and sales opportunities

3. Industry Outreach

  • Attend agricultural focussed trade shows and other appropriate events
  • This may involve overnight travel, but will be limited to no more than one trip per quarter
  • You will be uncovering additional opportunities to attend these events, bringing Britespan’s brand to the next level.
  • Join strategic associations and membership programs to increase Britespan’s brand recognition.

Working Environment:

  • Mobile & Office – this position is in person. Not Remote
  • Company supplies cell phone, laptop, these remain the property of Britespan
  • All work is to be completed on Britespan owned equipment
  • Work closely with Britespan personnel as needed
  • All appropriate safety gear must be worn when on construction site. PPE will be provided by Britespan
  • Must have, or be able to acquire a Passport

Safety: 

  • Follow the guidelines outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Encourage fellow employees to work safely and to report hazardous or unsafe conditions immediately to their Supervisor
  • Follow all company policies and procedures including wearing all required PPE
